Jules Verne is a genius if I ever heard of one. His books can be hard to read as every other chapter is scientific, telling how and why everything is as it is. His books can also be hard to read because they were written in french and some of the translations are rather poor. Still the story and ideas that are placed before you in this book are grand on the largest scale. We learn of both the world as it is, as it could be and the differences a person point of view can make. The depth in this book is not just found in the sea floor but the man that walk it.
