The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Story:

This is the third book of seven books in the Narnia series.

Another year has passed for the English kids but this time just 3 years has passed for Narnia. The group of four has been divided by school testing and a trip to America. Just the younger two siblings are together staying with their Aunt and Uncle's house. They don't like their cousin. He is a spoiled rotten child, that must have everything his way. When the three of them are gathered in the guest bedroom, they begin to talk about a painting of a ship. At first it seem as if the waves and sails are really moving. Before they can understand what is going on, they fall into the painting. Landing in the ocean of Narnia next to a boat titled the Dawn Treader. Once on board the ship they find their friend Prince Caspian who is now King. He has set sail to find the seven lost lords of Narnia. A group that had set sail years early but had not been heard of in years. The three kids learn and grow as they have adventure on the high sea.

Review: 8/10

This book is different from the others in that it has no bad guy. They have no enemy to over come. It seem to be more about exploration both of the islands of the sea and in another sense of human character. I feel that the changes made in the cousin are just as much exploration of self as the islands and the new things they find there.
