Les Miserables - Unabridged
by Victor Hugo
Story:
The main story in this book is about Jean Valjean. Jean Valjean is a French peasant that stole a loaf of bread to feed his sister's children. This single act changes his life forever. Review: 8/10
What can I say about this book. At times I couldn't put it down. At other times I couldn't stand to read it. The author likes to go off on different tangents. They are well thought out and do a great job of painting a picture of life in France but they do not progress the story any. I would say that every one should read this book at least once unabridged. For the history and the philosophy that are talk about but if your just looking to be entertained. Stick to the play or the abridged version.
