--- Standard Recipe ---

 

1 Lb Hamburger

1 Lb Tofu

½ Cup Soy Sauce

¼ Cup Sesame Seed Oil

½ Cup Sesame Seed (Brown)

Small hank of Ginger Peeled and smashed

2 Cloves of Garlic Peeled and smashed

½ Tsp Salt

3 Bunches of Green Onion Chopped

 

Wonton Wrappers

Egg

 

--- Instructions---

 

Mix all the ingredients but the wrappers and egg in a bowl. Place about a spoon full of the mixture on a wonton wrapper and seal it shut with a little bit of egg. Once sealed fry until golden brown.

You can also steam the Mandu or pan fry it.

This recipe is from my great uncle who was born in Korea but was adopted as a adult by a American Doctor and brought to the states at the end of the Korean War. He married my great aunt. She taught the recipe to my mother who made them every year on New Year's Eve.
